New $75 Tier: Exclusive Bonus Print!

Hello everyone! 

We'll be announcing a couple new tiers with new rewards this week! 

The first new reward is a new $75 tier. This tier is identical to the $50 tier, except you will also be receiving a deluxe exclusive 8.5x11 bonus print (shown below). This illustration, unlike the other prints at the $50 tier, is not in the pages of the Mothboy Monthly zine, so you can only get it if you back this tier (or higher!). All tiers above $75 will also receive this print! Kickstarter doesn't let us add rewards to tiers that are already backed, but rest assured, if you pledged over $75, you will receive it!

Don't worry, the final print will be uncensored.

Oh and, important info for anyone pledging to the $1000 tier: your pinup painting will be the same quality and style as this illustration! So if you want a pinup painting like this one, but of your own personal mothboy, well... you know what to do.

By the way: we'll be announcing another tier tomorrow that will allow you to adopt a random Mothboy character! The $200 blind-box mothboy adoptable tier will drop on Wednesday, October 25th.

Hello everyone! Wow!! I am blown away by the support for Mothboy Monthly already! We got halfway to our funding goal within the first week. That's really cool.

I've had a couple of questions about the Kickstarter, and I thought it might be a good idea to post the answers here:

International shipping

Q. What will international shipping cost?

A. It's difficult to say! Since shipping will be calculated per address after crowdfunding has ended, there are many factors that affect the final cost, including:

• Backer location
• Number of rewards selected
• Fluctuation of postage prices
• COVID and supply-chain related cost increases
• Possible price-gouging from any of our suppliers

That being said, we are reasonably confident that we can bring international shipping for the zines down to around $10-15, maybe up to $20 for countries affected more by supply-chain issues. Luckily, a magazine fits in a regular envelope and can be shipped with regular letter postage, but we want to find the right balance between cheap shipping, and sending a product that doesn't get destroyed in transit. That shipping cost may change so please bear with us if it's a bit more (or less?) at the end of the Kickstarter!

What if we don't make it?

Q. What happens if the Kickstarter doesn't reach its goal?

A. Well... we're working very hard to make sure that doesn't happen, and we're reasonably confident that it won't based on how much funding we've gotten already, in such a short time! But it is a possibility. Some options if the Kickstarter doesn't meet its goal are:

• Adjust our funding goal and relaunch (i.e. I pay for KS fees and/or printing costs out of pocket, and try to make it up with sales later)
• Sell the digital-only version to raise printing funds

Ultimately, the two most important purposes of this Kickstarter are to 1) pay the artists for their amazing contributions, and 2) make a cool, physical book for people to enjoy. We'll pivot our tactics in whatever way is necessary to reach those two goals! Since we're already halfway to our goal with more than two weeks left in the campaign, I'm very confident that we'll make it. 

We haven't made it yet, though. We still need your help! We'll only make it if you spread the word,or upgrade your pledge! We'll have some more previews on free rewards included with your pledge coming up soon, to make sure you get the most moth for your money.
